At about 11 pm yesterday (22nd), the Special Duty Squad and Anti-Triad Unit of the Criminal Division of the West Kowloon Region raided a top-floor duplex unit at No. 18 Hanoi Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, arresting 7 men and 9 women. 20-40 years old), of which 1 man is the host and tenant, 3 women are croupiers, and 1 man is responsible for "watching the water". Zhong pointed out that the detectives found a baccarat table and 15 men and women in the unit. Among them, a 28-year-old man surnamed Mei was the host. He was the tenant of the unit on the site. He was said to have worked in the financial industry and had gangsters. In the background, he was arrested on suspicion of "operating a gambling establishment." In addition, 3 women were "dealers" (between 24 and 31 years old) who were arrested on suspicion of "assisting in operating a gambling establishment." The detectives later arrested a man responsible for "watching the water" in an underground location.

The arrested gamblers include company directors, lawyers and college students

The remaining 5 male and 6 female gamblers, aged between 20 and 40, were arrested on suspicion of "gambling in a gambling establishment". All the arrested men and women were suspected of violating the Prevention and Control of Diseases (Prohibition of Group Gathering) Ordinance (Chapter 599G), and the police officers issued fixed penalty notices to them. It is known that the arrested gamblers included 2 company directors, 1 lawyer, engaged in the IT and beauty industry, and 3 college students were arrested. Some reported that they lived in a Stanley house, and 2 of them were studying in the United States.

During the operation, detectives seized a batch of baccarat gambling equipment, about 250 sets of poker cards, 3 books, and more than about 24.5 million yuan in chips, of which the largest denomination chip was worth about 500,000 yuan, and more than 215,000 yuan in cash was seized. 警搗尖沙咀複式豪宅「上流」賭場拘捕16人！警方早前接獲線報，有不法分子為了吸引高端的賭客，不惜工本每月花費15萬元，租用頂層複式單位作掩飾，從而經營非法賭博場所，而該個約2,000呎複式單位下層用作賭博場所，上層劃分成休息室。

昨日（22日）晚上約11時，西九龍總區刑事部特別職務隊、反黑組探員，突擊搜查尖沙咀河內道18號名鑄一個頂層的複式單位，一共拘捕7男9女（介乎20至40歲），當中1男子為主持兼租客，另有3女子為荷官﹐及1名負責「睇水」男子，另外11名賭客包括金融公司董事、律師及報稱住赤柱獨立屋的大學生。據悉，該「上流」賭場由黑幫和合圖操控。

西九龍總區刑事部警司鍾雅倫指，該個複式單位下層用作賭博場所，上層劃分成休息室。單位的牆壁有隔音物料，以及場內有多個顯示屏，顯示出過往的賭博紀錄供賭客參考，至於荷官會穿上制服在場內工作，場內有即食麵等食品招呼賭客。據悉，被捕男子租用上址單位約3至4個月。

鍾指，探員發現單位內有百家樂賭枱及15名男女，當中一名28歲姓梅男子為主持，他為上址單位的租客，據稱他曾從事金融業及有黑幫和合圖背景，他涉嫌「經營賭博場所」被捕。另外有3名女子為「荷官」（介乎24至31歲），她們人涉嫌「協助經營賭博場所」被捕。其後探員於地下位置拘捕一名負責「睇水」的男子。

被捕賭客包括公司董事、律師及大學生

其餘5男6女賭客，年齡介乎20至40歲，他們則涉嫌「在賭博場所內賭博」被捕。所有被捕男女同時涉嫌違反《預防及控制疾病（禁止群組聚集）條例》（第599G章），警員遂向他們發出定額罰款通知書。據知，被捕賭客包括2名公司董事、1名律師、從事IT及美容行業，另有3名大學生被捕，有人報稱住赤柱獨立屋，當中有2人於美國讀書。

行動中，探員檢獲一批百家樂賭具、約250副啤牌、3本數薄，以及超過約2,450萬元籌碼，當中最大面額籌碼約值50萬元，另外檢獲21.5多萬元現金。警方相信今次行動，已搗破一個有規模的賭博場所，警方會追查有關資金的流向，不排除有更多人被捕。
