警搗上環百家樂賭檔拘22人　檢$41萬籌碼及記帳簿

警方指，昨日（15日）西區警區特別職務隊於展開反非法賭博行動，警員根據線報及經深入調查，突擊搜查高昇街一大廈，搗破一個懷疑地下百家樂賭檔並拘捕22人。警員在單位內拘捕一名45歲姓李本地男子，涉嫌「經營賭博場所」。

另外15男6女，年齡介乎31至74歲，涉嫌「在賭博場所內賭博」被捕。所有被捕男女亦涉嫌違反《預防及控制疾病（禁止羣組聚集）規例》（599G章），警方遂向他們發出定額罰款通知書。

行動中，警員檢獲一張大型百家樂賭枱、約766副啤牌、一套百家樂電腦軟件、2個大螢幕、約21.5萬元現金賭款、面值共約41萬的籌碼、一張電動麻雀枱、2副麻雀及5本記帳簿。所有被捕男女現正被扣留調查，警方不排除會有更多人被捕。

警方指，有不法分子借機擴充賭檔，非法聚眾。西區警區特別職務隊人員將會繼續在區內巡查，打擊區內的非法賭博情況。警方重申，根據香港法例148章《賭博條例》，經營賭博場所及在賭博場所內賭博屬嚴重罪行，前者一經定罪，最高可判罰款500萬元及監禁7年，後者一經定罪，最高可判罰款3萬元及監禁9個月。警方亦呼籲大家顧己及人，嚴格遵守相關法例。
